A NEW ONE, DAY BY DAY – day 3

I only got about 3 or 4 hours in today, but I was able to finish up the first pass of the torso, with the exception of that left arm. as with a few other pieces in this series, I painted the models hands black with acrylic paint for the shoot, so I'm leaving those until later. the painted hands make for some really nice contrast against flesh tones, and have lots of great highlights due to dark color and shiny nature of acrylics. I like to think of them symbolically as representing the dirty hands metaphor; that they have performed some dubious act in the past... something that would have instilled feelings of guilt in a subject that didn't look so confident.

hands are next, then onto the arrows.
